PSA: Roads Closed in Shanghai This Weekend
By Lauren Hogan
Starting Thursday, several roads will be closed in Shanghai as a result of the city's annual tourism festival.
The closures will run until Sunday, mainly due to the big parade down Huaihai on Saturday night.
Closures are as follows:
Longmen Road between Jinling and Huaihai from midnight on Wednesday to 5pm, Sunday.
Huaihai Road connecting Xizang South and Chongqing South from 8.30pm Friday to 1am Saturday.
Huaihai Road between Xizang South and Huangpi South from 5-10.30pm Saturday. (During this period there will also be restrictions in Liulin, Pu'an, Taoyuan, Shouning and Wangting).
Huaihai Road between Huangpi South and Shaanxi South and Maoming between Nanchang and Changle from 6.30-10.40pm, Saturday.
Be sure to plan ahead so you don't get stuck in a massive cluster. And if the thought of the potential traffic nightmare scares you off completely from hitching a ride, you can always partake in these free city walking tours offered only for the festival this weekend... at least if you're under the age of 45.
